A tune-up should produce numbers, not just a sticker on the side of the furnace. On the cooling visit we take supply and return temperatures, check refrigerant charge by superheat or subcool depending on the metering device, read amp draw on the compressor and blower, measure static pressure across the air handler, clear and treat the condensate drain, wash the outdoor coil, and inspect the contactor and capacitor for the pitting and drift that predict a July failure.
On the heating visit we run combustion analysis on gas equipment, inspect the heat exchanger, check the flue and draft, test the ignition sequence and flame sensor, verify the safety controls, and confirm carbon monoxide detection is present and working. Then we tell you what we found. If everything is in range we say so, and we do not manufacture a repair to justify the trip. Yosef came up as a service technician, and honest diagnosis is the reason this company exists in the form it does.
