Where to read real reviews of our work

Every HVAC website has a page of glowing quotes, and every homeowner knows those quotes were chosen by the company that published them. We would rather send you to the reviews we do not control. Here is where to find them, and what to look for when you read them.

From our customers

Recent five star reviews.

These come from our Google Business Profile and from Housecall Pro, the system we schedule and invoice through. We cannot edit or remove either, and each one below says where it came from. Our Google rating is 4.9 across 147 reviews. Shown here are recent five star ones; read every review on Google, including any that are not.

Last night my AC started blowing warm air. As you can imagine this is brutal in the summer. First thing in the morning I called Home Comfort Air Services. Yosef the technician came out and diagnosed the issue and resolved it immediately. What a life saver. It’s nice to have a local company like this...

The Basics

Why we do not print hand picked quotes on our own site

A testimonial on a company website is evidence of exactly one thing: that the company liked it enough to publish it. Nobody posts the review from the job that went sideways. Once you know that, a wall of five star quotes on a contractor page stops telling you anything useful, and reading it is not a good use of your afternoon. So we do not run them. The reviews that matter are the ones sitting on platforms we cannot edit, where a frustrated customer has exactly the same access to the keyboard as a happy one.

This page is a frame for those reviews. We are set up to pull them in live from our Google Business Profile, so that what appears here is whatever is actually posted, in whatever order Google decides to show it, favorable and unfavorable, with nothing filtered in between. Until that feed is switched on, the honest thing is to point you at the source and let you read it yourself rather than filling the space with quotes we selected. The public profiles worth checking are listed in the next section.

How It Works

Where our reviews actually live

Google is the main one. Search for Home Comfort Air Services in Silver Spring and the Google Business Profile comes up with the reviews attached, along with the photos and the hours. Yelp and Angi both carry reviews of our work as well. The Better Business Bureau is worth a look for a different reason: the BBB tracks complaints and how they were resolved, not just praise, which is a more demanding record to keep clean. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating, and we are listed as Top Rated on HomeAdvisor.

Read across all of them rather than picking the friendliest one. A company can have a strong presence on one platform and almost nothing on another, and that pattern itself tells you something. Check the dates too. Reviews from six or seven years ago describe a company that may not exist in the same form today, because ownership and crews change constantly in this trade. We have been family owned since 2014 and Yosef still runs it, so in our case the older reviews and the recent ones should read like the same outfit.

What Matters

What people tend to write about, and how to read it

Reviews of HVAC companies cluster around a small number of things, and they are rarely about the equipment itself. Homeowners write about whether the company arrived when it said it would, whether the technician explained what failed in language that made sense, whether the invoice matched what was quoted, and whether the house was left the way it was found. Ours run in the same territory. That is normal for this trade, and it is a fair basis for judging a contractor, because all four of those things sit entirely within a company's control.

Be careful with two patterns. A single furious review with no detail, and a run of short glowing ones posted in the same week, are both weak evidence. Look instead for reviews that describe an actual sequence of events, and particularly for the ones that describe a problem and then say what the company did about it. How a contractor handles the job that went wrong tells you far more than a stack of jobs that went fine, because over enough years every company has both.

In Practice

How to leave a review after we have worked on your house

If we have been out to your house, a review helps the next homeowner more than it helps us. The simplest route is Google: search for Home Comfort Air Services in Silver Spring, open the business profile, and use the review option there. Yelp, Angi and the BBB all accept reviews the same way, from your own account. You do not need to have had a perfect experience to write one, and we would honestly rather have the accurate version than the flattering one.

One request: be specific. What was wrong, what we found, what we did about it, and whether the final price matched the quote. A detailed three star review is more useful to another homeowner than a five star review that says good service and nothing else. If something went wrong, write that too. We would prefer you tell us first so we have a chance to fix it, but a published complaint that we have answered in public is not something we are afraid of.

Worth Knowing

What the satisfaction guarantee actually commits us to

We put a 100% satisfaction guarantee on our work, and the only version of that phrase worth anything is the one with a process behind it. Ours is simple. If the work we did is not right, we come back and make it right, and we do not charge you a second time to correct our own error. That covers the workmanship and the way the job was carried out. It does not convert a repair we recommended against into a free replacement, and no honest company would claim otherwise.

The practical part is telling us early. A problem raised the week of the install is a callback and it stays simple. The same problem raised two years later, after another company has been into the system, is a much harder thing to sort out for everyone involved. Call the office, describe what is happening, and ask for it to be logged. Integrity and honesty are the values Yosef built this company on in 2014, and those words only mean anything at the moment something has gone wrong.

In Short

The short version.

  1. We publish no hand picked testimonials. Read the reviews we do not control instead.
  2. Google Business Profile is the main source. Yelp, Angi and the BBB are worth cross checking.
  3. BBB accredited with an A+ rating, and listed as Top Rated on HomeAdvisor.
  4. Judge a contractor on how they handled the job that went wrong, not the ones that went fine.
  5. Detailed reviews beat glowing ones. Dates matter as much as ratings do.
  6. 100% satisfaction guarantee: if our work is not right, we come back and correct it.
Questions
Asked and answered

Questions we get about this.

Why are there no customer testimonials on this page?

Because we would be the ones choosing them. A quote we selected and published proves only that we liked it. Reviews on Google, Yelp, Angi and the BBB are posted by customers directly, and we can neither edit nor remove them, which is exactly what makes them worth your time. This page exists to point you at those and to explain how to read them, not to compete with them.

Where can I read real reviews of your company?

Search for Home Comfort Air Services, Silver Spring, and the Google Business Profile comes up with reviews, photos and hours attached. Yelp and Angi carry reviews as well. The Better Business Bureau shows something different: complaints filed and how they were resolved. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating and listed as Top Rated on HomeAdvisor. Read several sources rather than settling on one.

Do you delete or hide negative reviews?

We cannot. Google, Yelp, Angi and the BBB control their own platforms, and a business can only respond in public, not remove what somebody wrote. That is precisely the point of using them instead of a testimonials page. What we do is answer criticism openly, and where a complaint is fair, say so and describe what changed as a result. A defensive reply under every negative review is its own red flag.

How do I leave a review after a service call?

Open the Google Business Profile for Home Comfort Air Services in Silver Spring and use the review option, or post through your existing Yelp, Angi or BBB account. Be specific about what was wrong, what we found, and whether the invoice matched the quote. That level of detail is what actually helps the next homeowner decide. You do not need to have had a flawless visit to write one.

What does your 100% satisfaction guarantee actually cover?

It covers our workmanship and the way the job was carried out. If what we did is not right, we come back and correct it, and we do not bill you again for our own error. It does not cover a separate failure elsewhere in the house that we identified and advised you about, and it is not a promise that a repair we recommended against will later be replaced free.

What happens if I am not happy with the work?

Call the office and ask for it to be logged, rather than waiting to see whether it settles down on its own. Describe what is happening and when it started. Someone comes back out to look at it. Most callbacks turn out to be a setting, a duct connection or a control that needs adjusting under real load, and they are an ordinary part of the job rather than a fight.

Who do I speak to if a technician and I disagree?

Ask for the office and say plainly that you want the disagreement reviewed by someone other than the technician who was on site. This is a family owned company rather than a call center with layers between you and a decision, and Yosef came up as a service technician himself, so a technical dispute can be looked at by someone who has done the work. Get the specifics in writing while they are fresh.

Are BBB complaints a fair way to judge a contractor?

They are useful if you read them properly. A company with years of work behind it and no complaint anywhere is unusual rather than impressive. What matters is the pattern: whether complaints repeat on the same issue, whether the company responded at all, and whether the matter was resolved. Our BBB accreditation and A+ rating reflect a record that anyone can go and check. Read the resolutions, not just the totals.
