How the appointment runs.

Common questions.
Is 80 percent or 90-plus percent the right furnace for my Beltsville rambler?
A 90-plus percent furnace burns less gas, but it cannot use your existing chimney. It needs PVC venting out a side wall and a way to drain condensate, which in a basement with no floor drain means a pump. In most Beltsville basements that is straightforward. Where it is not, an 80 percent furnace on a properly sized liner is an honest answer.
My far bedrooms never get warm. Do I need a bigger furnace?
Usually not. In a long rambler a bigger furnace makes the near rooms hotter and the far rooms no better, because the limitation is duct and return, not burner capacity. We measure static pressure and airflow first. Fixing an undersized return, sealing the trunk, or adding a run to the far end is often cheaper than the oversized furnace and works better.
